I am trying to acces mysql remotely through Mysql Query Browser

Hostname: flavioam.x10.mx
user: flavioam_root
password: (flavioam_root's password)
port:3306

Am I doing something wrong?
I already added my IP on Remote Access on cPanel, but query browser refuse the connection, error 2003.
I can ping this host, but i can't connect.
I already tried boru.x10hosting.com, the IP of host, but without success.

Thanks!

The x10hosting firewall blocks all incoming connections to MySQL from outside of x10 (read that as if it's not a free server, it can't get to mysql). The exception to this is Paid hosting or the VPS (but on a VPS you have total control anyways).

Thanks for help, but, I didn't understand the 'VPS' term.

Could you please explain or indicates some place where I can read about it?

Thanks a lot!

A VPS is a Virtual Private Server. Essentially, it's like having your own server with resources that only you can touch, and it gives you full control on how it operates but still runs under a shared, virtualized environment. That's the quick and simple way to describe it.

The thing with VPSs though, is that you need to know how to set them up. x10Hosting only provides Linux VPSs, so you'd need to set it up at first through a command line, but there's plenty of help around here and on the Internet to help you with that.
