Cannot set up MySQL with Joomla

hi

i've set up a database & user for my hosting, but when i enter the correct name, user & password into the Joomla installation wizard it returns an Unable to Connect error.

i am using localhost as the host.

i have successfully configured joomla using x10 before but cannot understand why it is erroring now

Does the user name and password match the user and pass for the database? And, are you entering the database correctly? Try that.
