Errors when uploading; i.e. an html.index file becomes an unreadable blank zero byte file. Able to delete but not add files. I think i deleted .htaccess by mistake. how do i restore this? Do i need to delete my account and start all over again?

have you checked how much disk room you have left ?

to check your account's disk usage (amount of disk space allotment used) on x10hosting free-hosting server...
in [ cPanel-x3 ] theme's home page (not x10hosting Basic) - look down left side for [ Disk Space Usage ] - you might need to open ( click on ) [ Stats ]
NOTE: if you are NOT in the [ cPanel x3 ] theme - click on the "Switch Theme" button at the top on the screen - you can choose between [ x10Hosting Basic ] and [ cPanel-x3 ] themes

be sure to check the number of [ inodes ] used - 50,000 is the maximum
Cron jobs can put a lot of Emails on your account (over time) - each one counts as a file

Have to remember there's only .5 gigs of space
for new x10hosting's free-hosting accounts - disk space is initially limited at 512MB - Users may request (in this forum) for unmetered (not unlimited) disk space

The requirements for unmetered disk space are:
* The account has been active for at least 7 days.
* The account must be using at least half (50%) of it's current disk space allotment.
* The account must have a valid (i.e. working) website that follows the Terms of Service (TOS).

this upgrade is completely free
