I'm currently using http://melnick.x10hosting.com and would like to use my own domain www.melnicks.ca as my primary domain.

I tried to make this change within my Account Details, but I get an error:
---
An Error Has Occurred
Whoops, it appears that there was an error modifying your domain. The errors are listed below.
  • Domain changes are currently disabled, please try again later.
You may attempt to correct any errors that occurred after continuing.

My hosting username is mmelnick, forum name birdman123. I originally had this domain parked using the hosting control panel, but after doing some forum research, I unparked it.
Do I need to change the Nameservers for the domain first? And, what should the nameservers be? I have the domain registered with another domain name registrar.

Yes, you should change them to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com

After you change them make a post in the upgrades section and a staff member will change it for you.
