Can't find htaccess

I cannot find the .htaccess file for making custom error pages.
I have tried searching in the search bar for it, but it has not come up.

At the bottom of cPanel-x3 home page (not x10hosting Basic!) click on [ reset all interface settings ] - click on [ File Manager ] - click on [ Show Hidden Files (dotfiles) ] - click on [ Go ]

In addition to what bdislter had said, I believe that there isn't a .htaccess file by default so you'll have to create one.
