Can't link new ad free account

When I try to log in it says I have to link my cpanel account, but when I enter it, it says it doesn't exist. What did I do wrong?

May I have your cPanel user name you used to sign up? Did you receive an account creation e-mail, or an activation e-mail?

Same account name - bgottsch. I got the e-mail and clicked the activation link.

Unless there is somewhere else I need to go to set up a cpanel account. I thought that was part of the ad free site setup process.

What was the time to be created, there is a queue?

Still not working. This registration process seems to be uneccessarily complicated.
