I'm having problems sending emails to members of my forum.

I had it set so that when somebody sign's up the get a confirmation email etc, it's worked fine since my forums been open but then suddenly it doesn't work.

So now if somebody forgets their password etc it can't be sent to their email address.

Now I don't pretend to be a genius, and I do sometimes struggle with the simplest of issues on my forum but could this be because Exim is (showing in my control panel as) down on my server(Absolute)?

I've been on the PHPBB forums and they said it may be something to do with my hosting.

Thanks for any replys

Roo

What server are you on?

I'm on Stoli and mails are not sending for me. The mail() function still returns true as if the mail got sent, but it never arrives where it's supposed to.

Thats what happens but I'm not on Stoli.

Is your PHP set to intermediate? That's what fixed it for me.

Yes has been since I opened my account.
Edit:
Does anybody think I should upgrade the PHP again?

Bearing in mind I am on intermediate at the moment.

You will definitely need PHP Intermediate in order to use the mail() function.

Ensure your scripts are set to use the php sendmail function, not SMTP or something else.

Scripts are set to the PHP sendmail and I'm not using the SMTP.

Everything was perfect and running fine then one day..........

Not changed anything I know of annd was just hoping the good people at x10 may have changed something their end and could change it back?

I believe that was supposed to be Intermediate ;)

No clues on the posting problems, but if were on the same server, I'd be sure you're not doing anything wrong with the mails. My cron jobs stopped sending output on Dec 3rd, 5 days ago. And I know for a fact they're running. So unless there's a setting somewhere that I don't know about, then the server is currently not sending mails, period. Though Exim shows as up and running.

Hopefully the staff will get around to fixing that some time soon, though I know they're busy with other issues these days.
Keep your fingers crossed that people have a good memory and don't forget their passwords until this is fixed.
