categories are not showing up

My site running on wordpress and now the categories are not showing up, i cant see any categories in the WP admin area as well. This was working fine when I last checked yesterday night.

the same thing happened to me, after that MySQL update.

is this something that will be corrected somehow, or should we just re-enter the categories (and links too, it seems)?

edit: just checked PHPmyadmin ... looks like the links are still in the db. I am not seeing the categories, though.
