Hello, I apologize if this is a repeat thread, I looked at others, but did not quite understand them.

I began working on my website before I purchased a domain.

I just purchased a domain from 1and1.com:

csetv.net

I was wanting this to be my website's main domain name, but could only find options for redirections and addon domains. Could this be changed for me? or else what can I do to fix this? Thank you! I appreciate this free hosting service! :)

First set the nameservers on the domain to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com

Then go to http://x10hosting.com/account to change your domain.

It will take up to 24 hours for the domain to work. It usually is around two hours.

Thank you for your help! Unfortunately, after spending a good while looking through the site's options for my domain, I am unable to find a place to insert these name servers. I see an option to transfer, but it won't let me do it with my domain (because It's not available, because I own it? weird..). I do see a option for changing the destination for my domain, but it seems to be a redirection rather than an actual domain transfer. I apologize for my newbness, and thank you for your help :)

ps: i did send 1&1 an email regarding the issue, to see if they could further help me in this situation, but please feel free to lend me your support :)

Click "Domains" under "Basic Settings".
Check the domain you are going to edit.
Click the down arrow next to "DNS" and then "Edit DNS Settings"
Change "Name server" under "Basic DNS Settings" to "My name server"
Primary name server is ns1.x10hosting.com
1st secondary name server is ns2.x10hosting.com

Thank you for the step by step instructions! Sometimes they are just what I need :p. I followed them and did what they said, and then changed my domain on my account page here at x10.

Now it's just a waiting game :p

thanks! -Steve

Your site is working for me now(the domain), let us know in a while if it does not work for you.

I tried accessing my site with the new domain (csetv.net) and I get sent to what appears to be 1&1's generic page (as if it hasn't transferred).

I also could not log into my cpanel, so i set my domain name (on this account) to the original csetv.exofire.net, to see if i could access my cpanel. I could not access either of my cpanel, nor my website. I have my site backed up, so I'm not worried about anything like that.

Just letting you know what has happened thus far. I will leave it alone now :p until this evening, tomorrow or how ever long I have to. Thanks you guys!

-Steve
Edit:
Just an update:

I can access my cpanel now, but I get a 404 message when I try to access my site. I will continue to wait! :)

-Steve
Edit:
Something interesting that i noticed, I'm not sure if this is normal or what but here it goes:

csetv.net is currently coming up with a weird, small forum. don't know whats up with that, because it used to be the generic site that 1and1.com used

My website is still accessible at csetv.exofire.net .

I changed the name servers at 1&1, and have set my account's domain to csetv.net (and it says that it is.)

I will continue to wait, but I was just unsure what all this meant. :S I'm such a noob at this kind of thing :)

Thank you all for your support, this is a great service!

I have reconfigured your account so the main domain is "csetv.net". Seems like it is working for me. Can you confirm?
