Hello,
today i notice that the port for email has changed.
when i try to send mail with cpanel's webmail there comes an error that the connection is refused.
If i send email with another provider the mail doesn't come in my inbox, and there's no message from the mail delievery system.

So how do i configure my mx record for smtp over port 26?

MX records are not specific to a port. They are only for the IP address. It is the email client and server that deal with ports. Use the CPanel tool to get your specific settings.

CPanel->Email accounts->Configure client (towards the bottom of the page, next to the email address you want)

These are my settings, for example:

Mail Server Username: webmaster+garrettroyce.x10hosting.com
Incoming Mail Server: mail.garrettroyce.x10hosting.com
Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) LSN-D1651.limestonenetworks.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.garrettroyce.x10hosting.com (server requires authentication) port 26
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) lotus.x10hosting.com (server requires authentication) port 465
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)

The connection refused error doesn't come from the MX record, but from the server itself.
This means that the SMTP server is having problems. If you are under chopin, there might be an issue with SMTP. Wait some time for it to get solved. Post back in a couple of hours if nothing has changed.
