So, I have looked into several threads of how to deal with this issue, but I still can't solve it in this case.

My forums are getting this error message:
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

I have already tried the repair_settings.php file. At first this solution seems to work, but as soon as I remove the file from the file directory, I get the connection problems error.

Additionally the "Paths & URLs for Themes" paths do not show up on the repair script 90% of the time.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks.

Hi,

We were having a few issues with MySQL on xo3 a few minutes ago. This should now be fixed; are you still getting this error? :)

Thank you,

The error is gone now, thanks!

But my entire website just went down!! (this was after I noticed it was up and running)

It's showing up as 'the webpage is now available'.
