Good evening x10,
I know there's higher priorities than this (server issues, etc.), but I wanted to make this thread just in case if there's a general step that I'm just accidentally missing, or if others out there are interested in wanting these same results with their websites (A future Sticky: thread perhaps?).
I purchased a new domain a month ago (www.ryanschoof.com) and I'm about ready to launch the site. I've done these items in the proper order:
1. purchased domain
2. updated DNS server addresses with my registar (ns1.x10hosting.com, ns2.x10hosting.com)
3. parked domain in cPanel under "Parked Domains"
4. applied a redirect in cPanel under "Redirects" afterwards (Is this required?)
I've read through the x10 forums about Corey or any other admin being able to "push" a domain in order to have full ownership of the domain. I'm at a point where I'm ready for such action to take place because I want viewers to be able to see http://www.ryanschoof.com/index.html in their browser's URL. I also plan on making directories within ryanschoof.com (www.ryanschoof.com/start.html, ryanschoof.com/img/, etc....).
Is this possible for an admin to help me out with this? And if I'm missing a procedure in being able to do this myself, could anyone help point me in the right direction so that I'm able to keep my domain locked into the browser's URL?
[ NOTE: I'm uncertain how deep I'll be making this site (PHP, CGI, MySQL, etc.), so I'm not sure if an admin can look into my account to see if I haven't fully set up my account properly for a domain push. ]
Thanks so much x10!!! I'm truly enjoying your service and have gotta say y'all are doin' one helluva great job!
