What MySQL are you trying to connect to? If you are still trying to connect to mysql.x10hosting.com then you need to change it back to localhost and delete the %.x10hosting from your remote mysql in your cPanel.

If this is no the case then please post back with exact error please.

I had the same problem with Joomla! I've transfered from my local server. Try this:

1. Do as admin said (i.e. use localhost as a host)
2. Make sure you have the right database name. It should be like yourCPusername_youDBname
3. DO NOT use the user you have created when you've created the database. It should be yourCPusername_youDBusername. Instead USE the CP username.
4. Make sure you get your password right

well, that worked for me, hope it does for you.

Make sure you remove the access host from the remote mysql. Unless the MySQL is down then you should be able to connect. Also make sure you have the proper permissions set and that you have a user and password set to be able to access the database you are trying to access.
