Critical file transfer error coming when uploading files through FTP

i am using filezilla for uploading files to the server.even before last time it worked well with the same settings and configurations .But tody(6)th dec)it is not uploading files.the ftp can able to log in and list the directories only the uploading is not workin..and giving the error "Critical file transfer error"
kindly give me suggestion to solve this issue
