Hey Everyone! I wanted to share with you my site, www.CSETV.x10hosting.coms It is a website that is based around the Creation Science Television station that I operate with TVU (tvunetworks.com). Its pretty neat, though i'm still working on it! Thanks for checking it out!

I actually just changed the domain name yesterday, but forgot to update this post because my site has not been working (along with everyone else's lol)

Hi there,

Your site design is very subtle, I like the colour scheme. Very minimalistic. Two things I think you need to do are:

-> Move your adverts into the space at the top of the page. x10hosting's rules state that the adverts must be visible without having to scroll down the page.

-> Add a logo! Not having a logo always seems to wreck a design for me. You could make one in the GIMP (a free, open source image editor) and then place it at the top of the page.

Overall, a very nice design.

Thank you for the Ad explaination! I was not aware of that rule, (should have spent more time digging through them ;P was too caught up in the moment i suppose!)..

I've got a friend that would be able to create a great logo! Thank you for your tips!

I love the minimalism: you use a very simple. though effective, color scheme that makes everything flow and appeal. The text is readable and crisp; the navigations and links are imposing, as they should be.

I am not a fan of the side-navigation coming on the left; if your target audience comes from the West, then something more natural (right->left) to them would be better suited. If, however, you plan on putting movie or tv links there, then left would work better (I'm thinking specifically of that one site that serves up free divx movies and uses the left side to list them).

Well, it looks good so far. I suggest getting a new banner, though. You need to get working and get the rest of the pages up, they all currently lead to the index page.

hehe, I know, I wish there was a way to be selective about that.. maybe in the future they could categorize the ads a bit better, and make them appropriate to the site...

Thank you all for the comments! and yes, I know I need to keep working on it overall, I've been swamped here at school (i'm still a college kid ).

I have a nice 4 day weekend ahead of me, so i have been mentally planning on what I want to do with the site, and I hope to implement it all this weekend Keep em coming! I like the feedback!

nice new domain. since the topic is supposed to be creation science why not get a more welcoming template, black is not considered a welcoming color in website making, try light blue, or white, the color of your forum would be suitable. There are many portals for SMF such as Tinyportal http://www.tinyportal.net/ they also support various themes that you should look at. There is also http://www.mkportal.it/ which is really good. Or you can simply switch to Vbulletin which has a grand amount of modules, and support, their portal feature is amazing as well. But it is a costly price. Hope this helps

Wow! Thanks for the tip, I had not thought of that! The only reason that I went with black and grey, was because many of the other websites (such as free hovind, and drdino.com) used that kind of a template, and I kinda wanted to break the mold. I'll probably change it at some point, but i hope to work on some other things in the meantime. I am having a friend working on a logo for the site, to make it a little more flashy.. We'll see

But yes! I did want to work with SMF and put up a new theme! Thanks for the links! (unfortunately, I looked at Vbulletin, and its a bit beyond my spending ability ) I really want to keep working on this some more at the moment, but I have been so swamped with school (college) work :S My semester is nearing the end, so hopefully I'll have more time then to work on it.

Whew! My collegiate studies have been devastating over the past few weeks. I was able to add a tv guide aptly named "CSEtv Guide," and it is ready to use! Thanks to Google Calendars! I hope to add more functionality to the site here within a week or two (finals week is this coming week.. ).
