Custom 404 no longer working

Hi there,

I've had a page www.simonhenshall.co.cc/404.shtml for some time that is shown whenever people navigate to a page that doesn't exist. However I noticed today that incorrect pages on my site are now loading a 404 hosted by X10hosting. The page itself still exists and works correctly.

I was wondering if this was an admin decision or an error with my site itself.

Something might have messed up the .htaccess files or there was a configuration change on the server that does not make that file the default error page if it exists

cPanel --> File Manager

Open/create the file .htaccess

Add the line

ErrorDocument 404 /404.shtml
