Custom design or third party cms, which one do you prefer?

If you are to be given a free designed cms website, which will you prefer, a custom designed cms or a third party cms like joomla, ez publisher, drupal, wordpress and the likes with a custom designed theme.
I am just trying out a small research and really needs your feedback.
