Hey!

I would like to know what is the adress to the databases?

At my website I use the DEV Web Management System and upon installation it asks me for a database. I made a new database and a new user and then use the adress 'localhost' as the adress to the database. It then gives me an error that the database can't be found. I have meager php knowledge and normal html experience. So I know about the database stuff a little.

If anyone can help me, can I PM them the details so that they can assist me, please?

Any help will be appreciated.

Whats the ip adress? Do they give you the IP adress for your account, or do you mean the url?

most cms(content management system) work if you put in localhost as the ip address. double check that u have the right db name.(format of databases: cpanelusername_dbname)

I have double checked it many times I'm sure.

Here is the link to the CMS http://dev-wms.sourceforge.net/

It's not big but see if you can install it. I think it's the code. Perhaps, but the cms has been used before.
Thanks for the assistance.

i have installed it successfully. make sure your database actually exists(you must make it in cpanel before selecting the database). make a database user or use your cpanel username and password.

That is weird!

I made sure I made the database. I go into CPanel and create one.
It then has my username prefix and database name, but it still can't be found?

I tried it with many different names as well. You used the localhost adress? Can I PM my details to you so that you can help me please?

I even checked in phpMyAdmin and it's also there. Perhaps it needs a PostgreSQL database? Oh I dont know.

Thanks for you effort I appreciate it alot!
