Databases have vanished!

I had a database and a database user on my account and both have disappeared. Also, the list of remote hosts is empty when there were several items in the list. Without a database, half of my website ceases to function. Any explanation for what has happened? All help would be greatly appreciated!

I re-added your DB user and your site now loads for me, please confirm.

It does appear to be working again, though it is quite slow.
