Do password protected areas, need ads?

Basically what the thread title says

Do password protected areas need ads?

I am testing a login script and was going to place it under a p/w directory, just to test, so no one else would be able to access it.

I shall put ads on just incase, however, this is just a clarification thread.

What exactly do you mean password protected? Because I think if they are protected to only allow you then no, but I think the rule is if they are allowed to the public, then they need ads.
