I tried to change the domain in the account panel but it said domain changes are disabled. I read in the forum that I need to change my name server to ns1.x10hosting.com. I don't want to do that since I still want to control through zoneedit. I just need to point my www to x10hosting server. Can I do that?

THanks!

I'll need to change it to be your default, or do you want to access your sub domain still; just set the IP's to the server.

Do you want it parked, add-on, or default?

Set your A records to x10's IP [for your server, ping your current sub domain].

Okay so let me explain some details into the issue.

First I already have a nameserver service from zoneedit.com. I want to keep managing my domain through it, i.e. if I add A record to DNS I want to be able to do it through zoneedit instead of using cpanel from x10hosting.

What I have already done in zoneedit.com is setup an A record for skyeight.com to x10hosting.com and a CNAME record for www.skyeight.com as an alias for skyeight.com. When I browse to www.skyeight.com I only get a cpanel page not my website.

I have tried to set my own domain skyeight.com in the properties page of the account (not the cpanel account) but when I submit it said that domain setup is disabled.

We used to be able to do this with our old hosting provider, so I believe this should also work with x10hosting since this should just be something line virtual hosting through apache with an alias.

You won't lose any access or control of your domain by changing the nameserver. What they meant was to change it to point to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com. You still have full control of your domain, it just now would point to x10 and when we set the domain name in your account, when you type your domain name, it goes to your webpage / forum / etc.

Thats why Brandon was asking if you wanted it as the default address ( instead of your sub-domain from x10 ) if you wanted it as an add-on ( so you can keep your subdomain )

Set the A record to the IP of your account like Brandon said, then go into your control panel http://sky8web.elementfx.com:2082

Go to parked domains and add your domain to it. You shouldn't need a CNAME record or to switch your name servers. Just add the A record.

Thanks for the input fellas...

So I have dont the following:
  1. Added an A record for skyeight.com to point to the x10 hosting IP 74.86.116.187
  2. Also created a CNAME record for www.skyeight.com to point to skyeight.com
  3. Added skyeight.com as a parked domain via cPanel.
If I go www.skyeight.com I still get cPanel X page, please go ahead and try. Am I missing anything from what you fellas have explained?

Thanks...

Try flushing your DNS, the address above works fine for me.
