What is the DSN setting for x10hosting because I need it to install phpbb3.

DSN is a database connection... do you mean dns? and why do you need it to install phpbb3? i just installed phpbb without it...
the name server are
ns1.x10hosting.com
ns2.x10hosting.com

Because my fantastico is stuffed I need to install it manually. And it is dsn. It stands for Data Source Name and is relevant only for ODBC installs.

correct... a DSN is a named ODBC connection... which you won't have...

So how can I get it. If I don't get it how am I supposed to install phpbb3/

you use the php native mysql access...

the phpbb install script does it all for you... tell its a mysql database with your version shown in cpanel and tell it the mysql server is localhost unless your server is stoli in which case you'll have to find the thread where corey states what that mysql server was just changed to

ohh i almost forgot you need to create the database first and tell the install script the database name as well
