Email address capture?

Hi, all. I'm quite new to the whole process of setting up a web site, so please forgive me if this seems like a "duh" question.

I've set up a page here to help out a friend who is participating in a charity event. She doesn't know about it yet, though. I want it to be a surprise.

The page is a letter that will hopefully convince people to go and sponsor her with a donation on the page that the charity has set up for her on their official website.

This is NOT spam or a hoax. And I will not be receiving any money or any other benefits whatsoever from her, the charity, or anyone else involved.

The problem is I'd like to capture peoples' email addresses so I can send them a "thank you" and an update on the total amount raised after the event, which will be on April 13.

Is there a built-in function in CPanel that will allow me to do this, or do I need to install some kind of scripts or other software?

You would need your own script, and then to store the data they enter - and you will also find spam bots love to fill in forms too
