I'm just in the process of finalising some configurations of my host and website and here's my difficulty....

I have 3 defined email addresses, lets say:
bob@nightchild.exofire.net
fred@nightchild.exofire.net
john@nightchild.exofire.net

I also have an auto-responder called :
no-reply@nightchild.exofire.net

for newsletters and such I might send out to members. If you were to send an email there it simply replies that its unmonitored and gives you the right emails to send your questions to.

by default all other email address possibilities are returned as " :fail: no such adress here " which would bounce the mail back to the sender.

Now I tried to change the default from :fail: so that it would forward those emails to no-reply@nightchild.exofire.net and then generate the auto-response. I did indeed get the auto-response msg but I also received a bounce msg as follows

---------------------------------------
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

no-reply@nightchild.exofire.net
(ultimately generated from bogus@nightchild.exofire.net)
Unrouteable address

----------------------------------------

Any ideas? That bounced msg should never have happened.
