hi,
I'd like to use a mail account, with "Evolution" under Linux.
I can't find the correct config. Whatever i enter, i always receive an authentification error.
I received no reply from support "team".

In cPanel i have something like:

Manual Settings

Mail Server Username: mymailbox+mydomain.x10.mx
Incoming Mail Server: mail.mydomain.x10.mx
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.mydomain.x10.mx (server requires authentication) port 26

in the Outlook config files, user is always : mymailbox@mydomain.x10.mx

Could you tell me how usernames are supposed to look like.
I tried with user=mymailbox+mydomain.x10.mx, mymailbox@mydomain.x10.mx, mymailbox+mydomain, mymailbox@mydomain, with IMAP or POP, but all failed.

Any tips are welcome, i'm totally confused.

Thanks for your help.

There are 4 kinds of connection you can use

username: your full email address(if you create a new email account) else just your cpanel username
SMTP authentication must be enabled for the login to be successful.

POP
incoming mail server: mail.mydomain.x10.mx port: 110
outgoing mail server: mail.mydomain.x10.mx port: 25

or

IMAP
incoming mail server: mail.mydomain.x10.mx port: 143
outgoing mail server: mail.mydomain.x10.mx port: 25

or

Secured POP
incoming mail server(SSL): *server*.x10hosting.com : replace server with your own server etc stoli, starka, chopin, boru etc... port: 995
outgoing mail server(SSL): *server*.x10hosting.com : replace server with your own server etc stoli, starka, chopin, boru etc... port: 465

Secured IMAP
incoming mail server(SSL): *server*.x10hosting.com : replace server with your own server etc stoli, starka, chopin, boru etc... port: 993
outgoing mail server(SSL): *server*.x10hosting.com : replace server with your own server etc stoli, starka, chopin, boru etc... port: 465

Hello,

Can you try using port 25 instead of 26?
