Enable SSH for Account

I want to enable password protection for selected folders in my account. I have access to .htaccess file however I need to login into shell account to create .htpasswd file. I would also like to use SSH for accessing, managing and maintaining my directories.

SSH is not enabled on free servers.

You can do password protection via cPanel.
File management can be done via cPanel or FTP
