I am trying to install Wordpress for use with this host address.

http://michaelj.x10.bz/

I created a database and uploaded Wordpress via ftp. Now I am having trouble accessing the install file, i get 'Error establishing a database connection'. Did I not create the database correctly? The files show up in the File Manager.

Thanks

Did you create the database user and add it to the database with all permissions? Also, the database host is localhost

Yes. I am able to login, and view the directories via web browser.
Everything shows up in the database and file manager thru cPanel.

That's not what I asked. I'm asking about the database that you were having trouble with concerning your wordpress installation. If I've misunderstood what your support issue is, then please clarify if the issue is the wordpress database that you are having trouble with or your cPanel.

Sorry. Yes, I created the database, user (with all permissions) and hostname (localhost).
The username and password are all correct.

Okay. Are you using the right url to get to the install directory to complete the installation of your wordpress? I ask because http://michaelj.x10.bz/ is not the complete url to the install directory. I get that database error when I visit just that url because wordpress needs all of the database information before it can even serve up the index page properly. Otherwise, you'll need to get into the config file to put all of that info in it.

I had already edited the file manually per those instructions, after creating the database. Everything matches up.
