Error establishing a database connection

I have three websites associated with my account, all of which use a database. Two of the websites are subdomains off the main. The problem is that I apparently cannot have three concurrent databases, for every time I try, one of the websites gives me the error "Error establishing a database connection". The other two work fine.

Now, if I delete the database, make a new one with a new user, that particular website will work just fine, however one of the others with exhibit the same error.

Am I not allowed to have three concurrent databases?
