Hi,
I have attempted to apply for an ad free web hosting account with x10hosting.com twice now.
The first time I used the username: msephton and the domain was:
www.msephton.x10hosting.com
After completing the forms, I was sent an Account Confirmation email. I followed the link on the account confirmation, and it told me it would send an email in around 10 minutes when the site was created.
So I next recieved an account status email, which said the following:

This email is being sent to notify you that the hosting account that you have signed up for has not been created, due to an error which occurred during the creation process.

The error that occurred was:
I

The error that occurred can most likely be resolved by signing up again for a hosting account here: http://x10hosting.com/hosting/signup

If you keep receiving this error, please post on our forums for support or forward this email to support@x10hosting.com.

So I immediately tried signing up again for a hosting account, it did not allow me to use the same username as the first time, so i used the domain www.msephton1.x10hosting.com, with a username mseph1.

Using the different domain and username made no difference, recieved similar account confirmation and account status messages.
I'd much appreciate it if someone could help me getting a working ad-free hosting account with x10hosting.com.
Thanks,
Michael

when you create your account dont add the www at the front, but it would seem msephton1.x10hosting.com has been taken it could be that this is why its returning the error for you.

I see the first account ( www.msephton.x10hosting.com ) has been created. I see the default x10hosting.com index.html. This is the index page that comes with all newly created hosting accounts. The second account www.msephton1.x10hosting.com seems to work.

Can you try and link the first account using the cPanel user name for that account?

If you can link the first account (the original one) i will delete the second one. If you can not please forward me the account confirmation emails (to my private messages inbox) and i will link the accounts.

Thanks for the prompt and useful reply. Seems like my account is working now, but in the process of getting there, I found it seems the reason I got the error message in the account status email i recieved might have been due to my choice of password. Once I got logged into the account management panel page, I tried logging into cpanel and by ftp, it said that my password was incorrect. So on the account management panel page, I tried resetting my password using the password i had specified when i first signed up. It seems the important point, is that this password includes the '%' character. When I tried using this password an error message appeared on the page, precisely the same error message as that which i first reported on this thread:
The error that occurred was:
I

So I next tried setting my account password to a string which did not include the '%' character, and it worked fine, so now i can log in to cpanel and to ftp.
It seems that '%' is acceptable for the forum passwords, but causes problems in the cpanel password.
So would be great if you can now delete the msephton1.x10hosting.com account.
Thanks again,
Michael

That's for reporting that issue. I'll let the "Develomplent thread" know about this.
You remember what's the cPanel username for: msephton1.x10hosting.com ?

Create the account without a % in the password. It looks like that is a bug in the code that will need to be fixed. You can change the password from within cPanel once you're in the account.

The cPanel username is: mseph
Hosting account "mseph" terminated.

Feel free to re-open this thread if you need further assistance.
