Warning: require_once(/path/to/joomla/install/includes/version.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /backups/home/celin/public_html/joomla/includes/joomla.php on line 71

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/path/to/joomla/install/includes/version.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /backups/home/celin/public_html/joomla/includes/joomla.php on line 71

Please don't ask me why I don't use fantastico, because it will create database name, username and password that I don't like.

Yes, definitely, I used the method of uploading zip joomla then extract it via cPanel, after that, I receive this message, but I can't find the file /install/includes/version.php

All I see is just www/joomla/includes/version.php

Make sure that the permissions on the file that gives you the error are not 777.

Ohh, then what permission should I set?

Edited :
okay, I re-extract again the zip file, the permission of the folder is still the default, maybe 0?

However the message still show up when I go to administrator area.

I would suggest to login to cpanel and just install jommla from fantastico you don't have to do any of the extra work it will take care of installing it for you and setting up the databse. just remove the files you uploaded and then go to cpanel and login then scroll to the bottom and find the blue smillie face and click it. You will then be taken to the fantastico page and will see several links on the left. Find the one that says joomla and click it. fill out the form and follow the instuctions and you will be all set. When it has finished it will give you the link to the main page and the link to the admin area.

You can always go and create your own database and password, use Fantistico to set it up, find the file where it saves the database info, transfer the contents of the current database to the one you want to use, update the settings file to include the corrected database info.
