Usually Web Host have Safe Mode enabled. An Admin / Senior Staff has to clarify how to install vB for you.

BTW, you MUST have proper license for using vB in your X10Hosting account. Else, its not permitted here.

Login to www.x10hosting.com/account and request your php version changed from Basic to Intermediate, this will take about 24 hours but should solve issues you're having.
