Error while installing CMS and other things

I am facing the same problem again and again while trying to install 3rd party softwares to my free site. After "checking the submitted data" phase, it is always shown that "
The following errors were found :

• The MySQL Database could not be selected."

"
What should I do now to install them?

Have you created the database and user using the cPanel MySQL tool?
