Extensions needed for Zend Framework

I'm learning to develop using the Zend Framework and would like these 2 extensions to be enabled:
1. apxs2
2. pdo mysql

We're a free hosting service provider and we can't allow extensions or install software/libraries as user request, as this affects all the server.
We do install them if they're requested by many users (as it happened with ASP.NET and Ruby on Rails).
I'm not sure about "apxs2", but if I'm not wrong "pdo_mysql" is installed. We'll have to wait for Brandon or Bryon to confirm it.
