I know this wasn't an option, but without it I think you might have excluded the majority of the x10 population from answering.

If I could I would have them all obliterated to smithereens. The whole point of these sites is to network, but yet all I see is glorified profiles of what people wish they could be or what they are on there best days. And again the whole security issue of putting all your details on a publicly accessible website is a bad idea. Gone are the days of private investigators, need to find someones family or friends. Login to Facebook and check their profile.

That's one of the reasons I now am completely free of all of them! Or as Jeremy Clarkson calls them, "MyFace".

Hate sites like those:

Social networking for companies means more than putting up a MySpace page. Learn from Neighborhood America's exec VP how to drive engagement and profits.

Social networking is here to stay. With a reported 114 million people frequenting MySpace, and another 52 million connecting through Facebook (source: comScore, June 2007), consumers have grown to expect opportunities for online engagement. It is critical for corporations to understand not only how people are growing accustomed to communicating, but also how this pervasive social trend translates into the company's bottom-line.

It is readily apparent that social networking has become a revolution of sorts, but can it be used as something more than a space to talk to your friends or watch funny videos? Can social networks actually drive profit for a company, promote meaningful discussion, or increase a brand's consumer engagement? And if so, how does a company go about getting involved? Is it really as simple as creating a MySpace page?

The answer is no.

Social networking at an enterprise-level is not about MySpace, nor is it about attracting crowds. It's about building high value communities that drive innovation and revenue through increased engagement with consumers, employees and even partners. The following "Rules of the Road" will help ensure a smooth trip for those corporations seeking to capitalize on the new world of social networking.

Rule #1: Map out the course before heading out
Once a company accepts that social networking -- and the deeper consumer relationships and discussions that can potentially result -- is necessary to remain competitive, it must decide whether to join an existing social network or create its own branded community.

While existing social networks entertain a large audience, the environment typically lacks the focus needed to drive growth and favorably impact a company's brand. An additional concern for companies is the inability to guide and monitor the conversations within these communities.

When companies decide to build their own social networks, they must first make sure that the community is consumer-focused, not tech-focused. A common mistake made by those eager to dive into the digital world is chasing after the latest technology without first getting to know their customers. Creating a strategic plan around the company's objectives for the community results in a purposeful social network, one that can be sustained by like-minded community members, whether they are consumers, employees, partners or shareholders, who share interests and passions.

Creating their own social network affords companies the ability to target niche groups and deliver some assurance that conversations will be more focused on the brand. With the launch of "Rate My Space" in early 2007, Scripps Networks has become a showcase for illustrating the type of success that can be achieved through a high value, niche community.

I give face book 5/5 points for simplicity and design. I then subtract 2 points for lack of more functionality essential for a website of its type. So, 3 for facebook.

Myspace gets 5/5 for functinality and speed. I substract 1 point for the clattered pages(their design is wanting for something better)

Bebo is just poorly designed but I think they are in the process of fixing this. Their functionality is also limited and some functions are more for show than actual utility to the average user. Ill give them a 2.

Looks like myspace gets it!

ps: I am not a user of either of the sites. Just created profiles to see what the hype about them is all about. To me they are just usual 'dating' sites but with 'social network' addons.

To compare all three is not really very difficult, I will choose facebook because of the api system is much more easy to adapt and changes, facebook can make alot of changes easily just by editing its api in it which is pretty the same as having wordpress which also have a api to run it.

I see many of my friends prefer friendster though this is because they prefer something much more simple as in not too many things to play with. Facebook have too many things to play around with and this sometimes confused me also.

Therefore facebook has some advantages which others do not have, but to use it for long period of time I will get bored.

Myspace is trash. Beginner HTML, CSS, embedded MP3/MIDI nightmare! Hoping someone could DDOS it just to save telecom bandwidth! Facebook is better, but many new "Applications" are making it worse. Simple is the way to go

Myspace blows.
I had an account for years ... clearly in no violation of any TOS, EULA, local, state, federal, international laws ... and just one day - poof. Vanished. Gone without a trace.
I e-mail them. I get a form letter saying they don't return deleted accounts ( fine ) - I wanted to know why it was deleted, though. ( E-mail says if any questions, respond to e-mail ) I did. ... A week passes, I get same form letter in response. ( Um, nice support )

So I signed up again. Had ONE picture ... next day, account deleted.

Even wrote to the parent company and still haven't heard anything ( This was back in October )

I'm glad this was brought up. I'm going to be watching this very close. My site is called Friends-Alumni, (www.friends-alumni.com) here on x10. I'm working on a few things and haven't started marketing it yet. It's based on a Classmates type site...but fully free. I'm actually looking for friends and former classmates from over 30 years ago.
I'm on Classmates, but refuse to pay.
I'm on Facebook, but it's getting too cluttered, and it's taking away from what I thought the site was about. I have actually found some former classmates from there, and it's nice to interact with them again, without paying someone.
I haven't tried the other two, yet. but I will, if just to get ideas for my site.
So, in answer to your question, I would have to say Facebook, even if it's just by default.

I just use my Facebook account to find old friends that I knew a long time ago. My friend list only has 5 or 6.
The quizzes and stuff they have added recently have really diluted it.
These blog sites are very popular. If everyone is going to them, where are they not going?

In my school everyone uses Bebo so i have no other choice but to use that and it's quite nice actually with the way you can change your skins, applications, modules ect... It's much easier to use compared to sites like Facebook.

No one uses MySpace here though...

I've been using Bebo since September of last year because many people at my school and sister school go there. Just a few days ago I joined Facebook to play an app. That's right, you read correctly. The app is called My Heroes Ability and it's one of the best apps ever created. I reckon the creators of it would be better off creating their own website instead of developing it on Facebook.

I'm not really impressed by any of the 3 > Facebook, Bebo or Myspace!! I think they are over-crowded and over-rated!! I always have like the forum type of community. I really don't want to land on somebody's MySpace site thats got like 50 million colors goin in the background where you can't even see the buttons and navigate! Facebook to me is a clone of MySpace! Bebo > mm don't know much about it.... just went and looked at it... Looks like the other 2. They don't impress me at ALL! I'd rather use Windows Live Spaces if anything
That's my opinion, as they say! LOL!

I'm trying to avoid those sites at all cost. They're not very reliable when it comes to information... I've heard Facebook sells them to the government. About your sexuality and all that. If I'd join, they'd probably sell the information as well... but why would they want information from Sweden? x'D

I don't trust those websites and I don't like to socially have small talk... so none of them aren't in my bookmarks.

Ya left out a voting option. "None of the Above!" What a waste of time.

If you really want to start a "social network", how about going out and meeting real people? Someone you can talk to and get to know.

As far as I'm concerned, these sites are crap and should die a miserable death on the web.
