I'm curious to know some software that you use everyday (or frequently). Free, commercial, shareware, I'd like to know.

Personally, I use Photoshop, URLBase 6, NVU, Opera, and FlashFXP every day (for photo manipulation, link storing, web editing, web browsing, and ftp respectivly). I'm wondering what useful applications you guys use.

Try not to name games :)

POV-Ray
Notepad++
PSPad
Firefox
Thunderbird
OpenCanvas
Visual C++ Express Edition
Artweaver
Winamp
Macromedia Flash 8

I think thats all. I do some programming and web coding on the side so I use a few IDEs. Visual C++ is horrible though so I recommend staying away from it.

The software that i mostly use in a daily routine is flashfxp due to its extra fast uploading and downloading speeds to manage my website.I use firefox for my safe browseing.I use photoshop CS2 a few times a day to make banners,avatars ect.The last thing i use mostly is a program called Swiftswitch for runescape.

I use loads of other programs but not as used as much

MS .net 2005 pro
MS C# Express 2005 (for use with the beta of XNA GS)
FireFox2 (already mentioned but it's still here.)
IE7 (cause I'm working on getting my site to not load when using ie, cause it doesn't RENDER properly in ie)

Hardware:
RiDATA 2gb flash drive
Game Elements usb ReCoil dualshock style gamepad (for testing games with c#)

Hardwares the only thing that's changed at all recently (besides updating from firefox 1.5x to firefox2, and ie6 to ie7). Imation's flash drives suck - 512mb dead in 4 weeks, and they wouldn't honor their warranty. The good news? Returned it through Newegg and got my money back that way, spent it on a drive that hasn't failed me yet (and it's been 3 months).

You are not alone. I'm picking up programming in Linux as well. Currently booting Ubuntu on my 6-year-old PC, cant decide between Fedora Project or Gentoo. I heard gentoo was more versatile so I might go with that.

I have a few free ones that use. I have used Blender 3d but never got into it too much. I use Dev-Cpp very often though. Dreamweaver 8 is what I use everyday for PHP coding, HTML, CSS or just anything related to websites. I even use it to write the text files for some of my scripts. That pretty much sums up what I mainly use but of course I occasionally use Photoshop to make some images. I don't use it as often now. I also use Firefox, 1.5 that is. I haven't bothered updating yet because I run Firefox off of my Flash drive.
