I am trying to extract a zip file but the extract button is grayed out. Is there something wrong? Can we not use .zip files?

I just did a test in my account on x10hosting's free-hosting server [ xo3 ] - had no issues

did you select the file (i.e. the line the file name is on - has a blue background)

what if any error do you receive ?

NO - [ 0644 ] is correct

on cPanel's home screen - how much disk space (i.e. room for the file) shows for your account ?

that looks to be from the filemanger 'upload' screen - not from cPanel's home screen

look for something like --> [ Disk Space Usage 1.68 MB / ∞ ] on left side of cPanel's home screen

The file i'm trying to upload is a little over 6 mb
my understanding is you have the file uploaded and are trying to extract it - which could take a lot more space than 6 MiB

You're right, I was looking at the file manager screen. How do you get to the cPanel home screen (does it matter if I'm using a free account) Also the file fully extracted is only 8 mb i only zipped them because i thought it would save me time other than sending the one at a time.

How do you get to the cPanel home screen
Sign in to your account at --> [ https://www.x10hosting.com/sso/login ]

click on --> [ Open cPanel ]

if you are NOT in the [ cPanel x3 ] theme - click on the "Switch Theme" button at the top on the screen - you can choose between [ x10Hosting Basic ] and [ cPanel-x3 ] themes

you S/B on cPanel's home screen - if not click on [ Home ] near top left of screen

AND
be sure to check (on that same page) the number of [ inodes ] used - 50,000 is the maximum

Same situation on xo4.

.zip file highlighted, but "Extract" icon grayed out.

Again.
Tons of space.
No inode problem.
Small .zip file
"Compress" icon working, but "Extract" icon disabled.

But now I just compressed a file three ways
Highlighting the .zip version, "Extract" grayed out.
Highlighting the .gz or .bz2 version enables the "Extract" icon.

Configuration problem with cPanel on xo4?

Hi,

This should now be fixed. Please could you try again?

Thank you,
