Files randomly 404 or dissapear

Hey there!

I've recently been recreating my website and I use an "external" css file (It's in /css, not like website external. It's on this host.) for all of the webpages.

Occasionally after editing my pages and fixing things up, I notice that my site loses formatting I've created on my own CSS pages, but not Bootstraps because the website maintains Boostraps default formatting from their CDN host, separate from x10.

To check, I looked at the source of my website and would click on the /css/hover.css and /css/style.css files to view them, however, they showed as empty and I saw no text! When I edited the file in cPanel's build in editor, the content was all there, so I would add a space somewhere so I could save, it would fix the problem and the file would exist, but then would disappear 20 minutes later.

Anyone got an idea? I think this is definitly a host issue?

Looking at the site initially, it's not getting the issue. Refreshed a few times and same result.

As you mentioned static files going blank, my guess is Varnish Cache is doing that. Other sites have been experiencing this issue previously and you might still be having it.

You could try disabling caching from Varnish Cache by using the information at https://x10hosting.com/support/general/varnish-cache
Note that this will not resolve issues in relation to Varnish communication errors. That would be something else.
