Were there any specific ones you had in mind?
We generally take the line of no BitTorrent / File Sharing files (i.e. .torrent) and no copyright files (mp3's specifically) unless it is expressly stated that you own the copyright or have obtained the copyright holders permission in writing.

There may be others, but I think they are the main ones

You can host almost ALL files, if you stick to the TOS.

What about torrent files for legally distributable content, and content that you have created and own copyright to?

Thats a hard one, ill have to let an admin answer that. I think the illegal-file scanner scans for the extention .torrent because how does it know???

to be safe, i'd say no, but if it is a yes, i'm sure you'd need to verify that it is legal, but usually legal files aren't very large, implying no need for a torrent

well there is the occasion that someone MIGHT be working on something like their own distro of linux or something... and alot of things like that use torrents as a way to download them so they dont take so much bandwidth.

i guess if you had some instance like that you'd need to let someone know so you could talk to us about it so that your account doesn't get suspended for that one file.

otherwise, like they said, most files wont need torrents so there is no reason to have them on your site.

If you own the files, and all copyrights (For example if you're a 'works' original creator, and you can prove it), it is alright to have those files (Including a torrent for those files) on your account.

Edit: Blahhh you two above me beat me to it.
