First artwork using Photoshop ever - Please rate ^_^

Just what the title says. Up till now, I've been using pencil all the way, never even touched a pen. This time, a girl on DeviantArt really impressed me and I wanted to draw her something and have a go at inking and coloring (which I'll have to do when I REALLY get into drawing comics) as well. So I drew this for her. The tall one is her character and I made the cute version for her as a gift to use as she wants. It took me all day >.<

This was my first time ever using Photoshop ^^ LIke it? I do.

That's your first? Wow, looks good. It's not my type of art, but hell, I couldn't draw like that, pencil or Photoshop. I would say 8/10, there are a few elements (mainly the background) that don't seem to fit for me, but perhaps that was your intent.

One thing I could NEVER handle was backgrounds xDD The clouds actually kinda fit with the style, but the grass is horrible. I realize this xDD I need to learn how to do grass >.<

Next time try not to over-use the blend/liquefy. Use it sparingly...like salt!

Thanks, everybody ^^ QueenHawkEye, I didn't use either of those two things xD I just got into the Photoshop and Fireworks programs. All I used to color this was the pencil, blur, smudge, and paint bucket ^^ I'm yet to experiment with anything else. Oh, and I need a tablet. All of this was painstakingly done with a mouse >.<

=3 Thanks alot, you guys ^^ For the doubter, it was definitely my first. I have been loyal to the regular no.2 pencil up till lately. To prove it, I used nothing in Photoshop but "paint bucket", "Pencil" xD, "Blur", and "Smudge". I know no other tools xD

But I feel great about being able to use those tools well, which I apparently did! =P I'll upload more stuff soon. Probably a comic. Or a dragon. Whichever comes first in my mind. But first...=P hehehe
