My forum has been down all day, because the http is apparently down. Is there something going on with the server? maybe some maintanance or something?

The configuration file for the HTTP server somehow got messed up\corrupted. Corey is recompiling/building Apache right now. Not sure how much longer it'll take.

Uhhhhhh, that last post was so off topic, that didn't really have anything to do with the downtime
[/off topic]
Anyway I hope it gets fixed soon!

httpd.conf is the configuration file for apache, so i'd say it's still on topic but thanks for your input :p

well i knew that the httpd.conf is the configuration file, I've worked with Apache before, I'm just saying that saying that the file(httpd.conf) is a nasty piece of work has really nothing to really do with the downtime we're having.

Okay, thanks. I've had members asking me and all I could do was shrug. Thank you.

this will just end up in a spam fest
Bottom Line-The server is down, the admins are doing everything they can to get it back up and all you can do is hope that it's up soon, now do not make any more "oh..i wish the server was up now" or "dang, i hope the server's up soon", that is implied since you are a member here

if httpd.conf wasn't such a nasty peice of work and wasn't proving to be difficult nor requiring recompilation then we wouldn't have the downtime would we?
