I'm trying to install Woltlab Burning Boards v3.0.0.3 on my free hosting package. I have tried several times, and it gets stuck at semingly random points during the installation with this error:

Fatal error: Connecting to MySQL server 'mysql.x10hosting.com' failed.

You get more information about the problem in our knowledge base: http://www.woltlab.com/help/?code=1130
Information:

error message: Connecting to MySQL server 'mysql.x10hosting.com' failed.

#4 /home/soia/public_html/acp/index.php(7): require_once('/home/soia/publ...')
#5 {main}

EDIT - Something I forgot to mention...it does connect to the database at the beginning of the installation, but at some point during the installation it seems to lose the connection, and it gets stuck.

Each time it gets stuck I have to delete all of the installed files and try again (which takes ages), and during the fourth attempt my account got banned for exessive resource usage. I don't know if it's a php problem or a mysql problem, but I'm pretty sure it's the mysql database connection that's the problem. I've tried looking at faq's and previous threads, but not luck so far. It's so frustrating because I really like this webhost, and I am actually thinking about upgrading to a paid account...but I don't want to waste my money if I cannot even install my forum.

Thanks for any help!

Gen
Edit:
OK, since getting banned once, I have tried again twice and each time I have been banned for excessive resource usage during the first attempt at installation. The third time i was banned for 30 mins instead of 15 and I'm worried i won't ever be able to complete the installation without getting banned.

Please can a staff member advise me about the possibility of installing my forum asap because I will need to find another host if x10hosting cannot host my forum...

Thanks,

Ben

i assume that when you go on it you get a directory? That isn't supposed to happen...it's the result of the installation being interrupted by my account getting suspended...

Try a manual install of the forum, most likely you will have to create the config file yourself and then dump the mysql info into the database using phpmyadmin

Hello,

Please add '%.x10hosting.com' as an access host for MySQL in cPanel.
