Im not one for complaining about something Im getting for free... but since signing up for an account on the 14-11-2006... my site has been up approximately 4 or five days, between downtimes... is this acceptable?

I cannont FTP my site contents... when I use my FTP client (cyberduck) I manage to log in after about 15 minutes (yes I am on an ADSL connection) and begin uploading the files...only to have the connection timed out. Upon entering using xpanel filemanager...the few files that do manage to make it... are all weighing in at a grand 0kb. So I decide to use ONLY the xpanel file manager (which co-incidetally is like trying to pull horeses teeth with tweezers and takes forever doing files 1 by 1...instead of entire directories) 8 out ten times the same thing occurs... files wont be completely refreshed (by the way "overwrite existing files" check box...its just there to look pretty obviously, beacause IT DOESNT WORK)
After an hour of uploading and fiddling and deleting...I finally manage to see the flash intro to my site...AWESOME.! That was Friday...guess what.... its now Monday.... its down again...what a surprise...eh...imagine my delight:mad:

BTW Ive followed this procedure now about 4 times.... and quite frankly Im pretty much sick to death of having to upload my ENTIRE site over and over again because well... David Blane, is your new server administrator...and he's doing his amazing... "lets zero all the file sizes" magic trick!

Listen guys...if youre gonna advertise yourselves, as a free corporate hosting service....great...but dont even bother if the service doesnt work....really... No one wants anything for free if it doesnt work believe me...its the equivalent of going: "here...have this cup of fresh urine...its free!!!!"

Id actually bother to cancel my account here, if I thought I wouldnt have to repeat doing it 6 times, in case the service didnt refresh itself...
You guys have completely put me off ANY free hosting service... I would rather go the pay route...at least itll probably work. Thanks guys...youre the best :thefinger

Well Corey, the owner, outlined in another post.

1 hours of downtime per day = 95%uptime per month, so having the server down for 15 to 20 minutes make it nice uptime, especially for what we offer, and you cant really complain.

Also if you want reliable hosting, check out our paid hosting, its in another Data Center, its faster, and a more reliable server with a lot less accounts;)

btw, nobody close to David blane is our server Admin, thats not a nice joke you know.

I'm going to have to say there is an issue with just your account. I have the stats here and the free server is over 94% uptime, and that is with all the known issues from the move.

I see this is your first post also. You can only blame yourself for not trying to get help previously. Good luck on your host search ;)

I wish you luck too... I doubt you'll find a better free host that this one... Believe me, I've been there.
