That's because those are called Abandonware It's when the company no longer officialy sells the game or they don't support it anymore.

Another good place for Abandonware is CGArchive (www.cgarchive.com) where the users help add stuff to the site.

I prefer good ol' emulation of consoles... nothing beats SNES and NES
