Welcome to part 2 of the voting. This thread will focus on word processors. As always vote for the best of the best.

Word Processors

OpenOffice
The leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more.

AbiWord
A free word processing program similar to Microsoft® Word.

StarOffice
Just like OpenOffice and Microsoft Office except that it comes free with the Google Pack. (Worth around $70.00 if you buy from Java).

Lotus Symphony
Office productivity software that is intuitive, easy to use and provided at no charge. For Linux or Windows Operating Systems.

Right now I don't use any free word processors, just office 07. (yes, shame on me)

I have Microsoft Office 2007 installed here as well, so don't feel bad compwhizii. Otherwise, I'm an OpenOffice person. I have it installed on the rest of my PCs :)

OpenOffice ftw! It's brought me through a lot of tough times  The thing is, it doesn't have a Publisher equivalent yet, well, last time I looked (Although there could be one in development)

OpenOffice; first one I found, feels exactly like Office 2003 to me (which is the one I like, coincidentally), opened and worked with all my word and excel files right out of the box.

Others in the poll would probably do the job too but OO's the first one I remembered and picked up when I couldn't find the office disc, so it gets my vote since the first one not only worked, but looked and functioned insanely close to what I was used to.

I use OpenOffice.org on PCs which don't have Office, as I lost my copy of Office 2000, and my three licences for Office 2007 (Home and Student) have been used up. :(

NeoOffice (the Oo_O for Mac) sucks Steve Jobs' balls.

But Oo_O for PC is the best.

lol, OOo ftw.

OOo was the first fully functional office suite that i've used on linux. I've also used abiword, but didn't like it as much.

I've got an MS Office 2007 and XP disc around, but I have OOo on XP.

OOo ftw!!! What is better than open source software? Common I mean why buy something when you can get it for free (MS Office)

It's pretty much a landslide. OpenOffice wins the award. Thank you all for participating. Watch out for the next Free Software Poll.
