Hi,

Here is the pre-installation page: http://bfforums.pcriot.com/unwritable_installation.png

Before someone tells me to chmod my files... it should work by default AND I did various chmod combinations (the languages folder and the files within, the configuration.php-dist file, the installation directory, the includes directory, etc).

Is this a temporary bug on the servers or do I need to configure something to get it work? I've installed joomla countless times, but this is the first time anything like this has happened before...

Thanks in advance! :)

P.S. I realize now that editing out the domain name didn't make a difference :p. Oh well.

Should work is one thing. Did you try going through and CHmodding the directories?
I've setup Joomla too - and I got that unwritable message as well, but as I went through and changed the directories permissions, it said writable.

I just CHMOD'd every single file/folder to 755; it didn't work. I also installed it earlier today successfully, but uploading mods/components/plugins/templates is impossible. I'm almost positive it's some kind of server problem but I can't imagine what's wrong :\.

Please help...

Thanks

P.S. StarShine, I really like your website... the colors/banner - all of it. Great work!

I'm finishing up fixing the server now. If you're still having issues in a few hours please re-open this thread or create a new one.
