Just started a new free hosting account. Using the information from cpanel and the ftp section, entered host, username, password and port number into Filezilla, but only get the following:

Status: Resolving address of ftp.fadstoobsessions.pcriot.com
Status: Connecting to 80.251.18.8:21...
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server

I tried to use the 'configure ftp client' (for filezilla), but the resultant xml file doesn't work when imported. Similarly, I created a ftp account (using cpanel) and tried to use the corresponding credentials, but still same connection timed out error.

Any advise on something I'm doing wrong (or is it that just free hosting isn't worth the effort? i.e you get nothing for nothing, and that is definitely the result so far).

Regards

after this line...
the next line should be...
Status: Connecting to 198.91.81.8:21...
EDIT: there was a issue with the domain [ pcriot.com ] - which has been fixed

there is no need to add a FTP account

see --> [ https://x10hosting.com/support/guides/uploading-files ]

and --> [ https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/ftp.fadstoobsessions.pcriot.com ]

a few thousand users of x10hosting's free-hosting - would not agree with you
