FTP keeps logging me out

Hello everyone,
Am new to ftp,and everytime I try to connect to my site {hosted my x10hosting},it keeps logging me out,

This is the error message:

~Connection time out
~Failed to retrive directory list

Can someone help me on how to start please?

Am using the client ~ Filezilla.

This is what i enter in the fields.

Host ~ ??? {I enter sitename.x10hosting.com } [replace sitename with real site name]
Username ~ ??? {I enter my username}
Password ~ ??? {I enter my password}
Port ~ 21

=> Quick Connect {Then error message shows after a few seconds}

Any help will be great.

Try ftp.sitename.x10hosting.com.

Try ftp.sitename.x10hosting.com.

That's not required.. It all points to the same place.. THis was probably a little server hiccup.. If your still having issues then submit a ticket..

The problem may be with Filezilla.

Some results seem to point to setting Filezilla

Click on Connection -> FTP: Choose Active 
Click on Connection -> FTP -> Active Mode: Select "Ask your operating system for the external IP address" 
Click on Connection -> FTP -> Passive Mode: Choose Fall Back to Active Mode

Other responses seemed to indicate possible firewall/router problems.

Have you tried setting the connection to passive ?

Well,some computers don't work with it. I've done everything there,and it's still not working.

I downloaded another client,and it works great.
