FTP problem

Hi, I just been ablt to my cp and as soon as I got there I did a new FTP account and tried to connect it. But I get this error
Response: 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ----------
Response: 220-You are user number 14 of 50 allowed.
Response: 220-Local time is now 06:40. Server port: 21.
Response: 220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
Response: 220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
Response: 220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Command: USER aravinthan
Response: 331 User aravinthan OK. Password required
Command: PASS *********
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Could not connect to server

But I know I entered the username,host and password correctly. I evne tried changing the password but it still doesnt work!

EDIT:
Well I connected with the first FTP account that was in my FTP account manager. I been able to connect and upload files. But when I do upload those files, it doesnt hcange my home page. I uploaded the files in this directory:
/public_html/Aravinthan/

You need to upload in in your public_html folder.
