FTP Problems

I was attempting to make a backup of my site by FTP and I needed to download about 1500 files and it got to around 1000 files left to go and my connection keeps timing out.

Is there anything that can be done about this?

Well apparently I can not see my site either. I tried to look at it and it would not show up but when I used a proxie to surf to my site it works.

Did the server's firewall somehow block me?

Hi,

This seems to be a problem with your firewall if the proxies work.

try a traceroute <your domain> a good stats on the route can be found and you can isolate the issue. and regarding the FTP I am not sure whether the active/passive ports have anything to do with it. Hope to give you some more info to get this worked out.

As for the FTP problems - Try using 'FileZilla Client Software' (FTP Client)... Its the best I ever used. And it works fine on my computer.

It's possible your FTP client opened up too many connections to the server,(200). Some FTP and mail clients do this. If it did you possibly got blocked by our firewall. If you're still having issues PM me your IP address.
