FTP Question

Normally on a usual hosting site, you would just upload without dealing with folders. But this is different. There are 7 folders when you log-in to FTP:

.cpanel
etc
mail
public_ftp
public_html
temp
www

So my question is:

Where do I upload (Through FTP)? Do I upload to root?

you upload to the /public_html upload your webpages etc.. to tht.
